This level 3 course will equip you with a good knowledge of various subjects relating to Outdoor Sport. It combines classroom-based theoretical study with practical outdoor adventure sports performance. The course content will be related to the roles working in the outdoor adventure industry.

  • What you will study

    You will study:

    • Sport: Units such as fitness testing and training, expedition skills, Land and water-based adventurous activities, psychology for sports performance.
    • Literacy/Numeracy enhancement: You will take part in a personalised literacy and numeracy development programme.
    • Employability programme: A range of activities that will enhance your chances of employment after the course
  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) (English and maths desirable) or a Level 1 qualification.

  • Assessment

    Continual assessment throughout the year and a number of both written and practical assessments.

    Students are required to complete a portfolio containing evidence of assignments, practical performance, presentations, group exercises and discussions

    An exam for the literacy and numeracy enhancement aspect of the course

  • Moving Forward

    Successful completion of this course could lead to employment within the outdoor sector or Higher Education.
